Concept Design

Designers explore and play with unbounded possibility. We use the elements as our medium and also as our inspiration. Our designs range from the delicate and serene, the interactive and playful, to the energetic and grand. All contain a level of responsiveness, a personality, and a character unique to WET and specific to our clients’ needs.

Illustration and Animation

Illustrators and animators lend life to visual representations. 3-D worlds convey how a feature will feel and move in real time.

Model Making

Our model makers use their movie and special effects backgrounds to build tiny WET features. Models allow a study of the form, movement, and accessibility of our devices.

Design and Presentation

Let us show you what we can do with the elements. Multimedia presentations with illustrations, animations, and models paint a clear image of the final creation and capture the essence of the choreographed movements.

Mockup

Full-scale mock-ups of our designs allow engineers and designers to study new technologies, adjust and perfect a project’s real-world execution, and ensure a feature will perform to the initial vision.

Schematic Design

Architects define the form and details of the pattern, color, materials, and finishes of the feature and associated surroundings.

Engineering

Engineers prepare all technical documentation. Construction documents cover mechanical systems, electrical systems, and architectural detailing. A contractor local to the site builds the feature according to the specifications in these documents.

Research Laboratory

At our research and testing laboratory, we push the boundaries of water, fire, ice, and fog to develop new effects and expressions. Custom technologies and treatments allow us to sustainably accommodate different environmental conditions.

Manufacturing

At our facilities in California, we conceive and manufacture the technologies and equipment used in our features to achieve ultimate precision and quality.

Installation

We follow our creations across the globe. Our engineers and field technicians oversee final construction.

Commissioning

Commissioners breathe life into an array of installed equipment. Like musicians tuning a fine instrument, these experts elevate the project operationally. Only then does choreography become possible.

Choreography

Through choreography, our features express the inherent, kinetic quality of water. Designers and choreographers first create the fountain’s animated program on VirtualWET™, a 3-D particle model simulation tool. Complex choreography is then fine tuned and completed on site.
