Adjacent to China’s Three Gorges Dam—the largest hydro-electric power plant complex in the world—WET created an expansive water feature, which draws the attention of nearby visitors, as well as catches the eyes of those from a distance. Spanning a remarkable132 meters, the grand water wall is now the longest water wall in the world. Inspired by the nearby Dam across the Yangtze River, WET designed a dramatic statement to bridge the Three Gorges Tower and Hotel. Intricately choreographed patterns of water gracefully slip down textured gray stone to produce subtle graphic layers, which dissipate towards the bottom of the wall. Tiers of water catch brilliant sunlight or bathe in silky white light during the evenings, creating a shimmering play of movement and reflection.

Chengdu locals and tower visitors alike can enjoy watching mesmerizing sweeps of water cross along the wall, while smooth surges calm the senses with an ocean-like timbre.
