The water feature at the center of The Legends in Kansas City main plaza consists of a split tiered basin 60 feet in diameter and consists of 54 MicroShooters™, or nozzles. From the upper tier, three concentric rings of pulsing jets emit vertical water expressions capable of reaching 60 feet in height. Each jet is individually programmed to create a dazzling array of patterns and chases that shoot straight up and come straight down, making fun popping sounds when the spray hits the water. Water cascades from the upper tier to the lower basin as 36 intervolving LeapFrogs™, or glassy Laminar arches arranged in a basket weave pattern, create their own choreography as segments of water leap from the basin edge and ramp up and down in height.

The fountain is built with black granite blocks that are custom-made to ensure a precise fit. The water surface will be completely smooth, like glass, and the lower-tier pool will be only a quarter-inch deep to help ensure visitors’ safety.

The feature is vibrantly lit with colored light producing a jewel-like presence for night and the basin edge provides seating, creating a gathering space for the plaza.
