Glory gives new meaning to the term “centerpiece.” The water feature rests comfortably between a shopping mall and the high-rises and hotels of South Korea’s Metapolis development. The feature provides not only a remarkable show of water acrobatics that attracts crowds on its own accord, but also serves as both a playground for the audience and a stage for live performances.

The center of this centerpiece is Glory’s vertical expression. Stretching more than 50 feet across, its raised, circular basin harbors a heartpounding orchestra of waterworks. A musical flurry of twirling water jets that fan into wide sweeps of spray guard an inner ring of jets that pops bullets of water one hundred and thirty-three feet in the air.

Perhaps the fountain’s most innovative feature, however, lies just beneath the obvious. A ring of jets on the basin floor generates thunderous arrangements of waves that crash against the lip of the basin and flow rhythmically down a series of white-lit steps onto the fountain’s outer brim.

Lights strategically placed around the outermost perimeter beam through an ephemeral, hovering fog that lures visitors to join in the mystery. When the fountain is quiet, it provides a prominent stage to host community concerts and events.
