A series of three water features were developed by WET as part of the McCormick Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Fourteen Laminar Streams™ compose a linear water sculpture located in the building’s main lobby. The streams weave through the space, interacting with the architecture as well as with the visitors who circulate through the building. The Laminar Streams and their foundation of WaterSkins™ create a crystalline and delicate appearance that contrast with the strength of the surrounding granite hardscape.

A field of kinetic, pulsing water columns is located at the opposite end of the atrium. The WaterSkins beneath the jets reflect the choreographed sequences as clusters of robust, vertical water patterns that exceed two stories within the interior environment.

The exterior feature is composed of a linear path of pulsing water columns located in a semicircular plan. Choreographed, this arc of Shooters® creates elating progressions of water activity. As the water plumes fall, they impact an amphitheater shaped arc of stairs. Water cascades over the surface of the steps, resulting in a robust horizontal water texture. In the evening, the feature is vibrantly illuminated with white light.
